The hide family have taken this combination stone for a test drive and were very surprised at the quality of the stones for the price. It has a medium/hard bond that cuts well on carbon and alloy steels. It comes with a very stable base and stone holder. A 10 min pre-soak in the base and you are ready to go. This is the most intelligently designed combination stone I have seen at a very affordable price.

There is only one individual I know of that can accomplish perfect results on a rounded stone. That is Master Hideaki Yamamoto. For those of us that do not have over 65 years of sword and knife sharpening experience I recommend a stone flattener. This quality flattening stone form Suehiro is smartly designed, with integrated holder at an incredibly affordable price. It works beautifully with both the Suehiro combination stone and Hide Stone and will work with all stones with a soft to medium hard binder.Pris : 311,20 SEK]]> Sun, 24 Feb 2013 15:03:07 +0100 Honyaki Yanagiba https://www.sakaijapaneseknives.com/index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=product&task=show&cid=1249&name=honyaki-yanagiba&Itemid=129&category_pathway= https://www.sakaijapaneseknives.com/index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=product&task=show&cid=1249&name=honyaki-yanagiba&Itemid=129&category_pathway= Honyaki YanagibaAll the Honyaki knives come with a traditional octagon handle made of dark Ebony. The Honyaki's wood Saya will correspond to and match the handle material. You can order your Honyaki knife with lighter Magnolia handle and Saya. Many professional Chefs that work long hours with their Honyaki knife enjoy the Magnolia handle because of it's properties to resist damage from water. But the mahogony handle is stunning against a polished blade. Each knife that bears this seal has a registered serial number with the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. It certifies that only true masters were involved in the making of the knife. It is an expensive and complicated process to guarantee that the customer receives a traditional Japanese knife direct from the hands of a master.
